22, 23, 24 July - 2016 London Seminar
Unique Opportunity
Please join us for this unique opportunity to meet and learn from Ikeda Masakazu sensei in London. Interpretation will be provided by Edward Obaidey. Mastery & Basics Ikeda Sensei is widely recognised as the pre-eminent practitioner in Japan and a Master of both the Acupuncture and Herbal traditions. Echoing the Classic title "Su Wen" ("Basic Questions"), his ability and art are based on a firm belief that:"Mastery consists of a thorough, advanced understanding of the basics." Mastery of the Basics(the "fundamentals") is the true bad-rock on which our medicine and treatments stand. This leads to true understanding and reveals the complexities or 'Difficult Issues' ("Nan Ching"). TJM Ikeda sensei presents a unified theory that encompasses a wide healing spectrum. The seemingly disparate strands of activity presented by TCM, Meridian Therapy, ToyoHari, Five Elements and herbal practitioners are all drawn together and understood as part of one unified body which Ikeda sensei has labeled TJM ("Traditional Japanese Medicine"). Practitioners of any style will benefit from this deep understanding of the Basics (or "Fundamentals") to enrich, develop and inspire their current practice. Ikeda Masakazu![]() Ikeda sensei has been practicing, studying and teaching traditional oriental medicine for over forty five years. His theories and techniques based on traditional acupuncture are widely accepted around the world. His determination to understand classical acupuncture texts has set him apart and created a demand for his lectures even as he developed and maintained his clinic. He graduated from Meiji Oriental Medical Institute in 1968 and has spent his life devoted to the practice of acupuncture, moxibustion, and herbal medicine. With his years of experience Mr. Ikeda has developed a state of the art needling technique that is truly inspiring. His overall approach to healing is grounded in profound understanding of classic acupuncture and herbal medicine texts. (text & image copyright of International Acupuncture Network) |

Acommodation Due to high season tourism in London, we highly recommend that you book your lodgings in advance. Hotels There are hotel, hostel and bed & breakfast options in London to fit every budget. Here are a few links to hotel chains in the area. (There are many many more options which may be easily found with a web search.) At time of writing (September 2015), a double room can be booked for £80-£120 per night depending on the hotel/ number of nights etc. - Premier Inn (Euston is closest branch to Seminar) - Ibis (Euston is closest branch to Seminar) - Travelodge (Marylebone is closest branch to Seminar) (Note that the seminar venue is very central (walking distance from Baker Street and Marylebone underground stations) so you can really book in any area of London and transport on the London Underground should be reasonably simple.) Group Bookings We did some research into discount bookings at major hotel chains but it seems that if you are booking 3-6 months or more in advance, there is already a large discount built in. However, if a group of you get together (typically more than 10 people booking at the same time) it may be worth requesting a group booking discount. We have not done this as we do not know which hotels and budgets people will be interested in . Hotel & Flight Discount Hotel bookings made together with flight bookings often offer a significant discount. Examples here: - Cheap Tickets - Expedia Other Another well known option is AirBnB - This can be good for both individual, and group bookings and give you a non-hotel experience if you prefer that. |
